The driver of a burning car jumped from the flaming vehicle and fled before the driver-less car continued down the offramp and crashed into a house, authorities said. The incident unfolded about 2:40 p.m. on the Downey Road offramp of the eastbound 60 Freeway, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol officials. Witnesses reported seeing a black Lexus on fire on the offramp when the driver jumped out and ran away, fire department spokesman Joey Napoli said. The out-of-control car continued rolling down the offramp and struck a home in the 300 block of bonnie Beach Place, Napoli said. No injuries were reported inside the home, which sustained only smoke damage, he said. No structure damage or interior fire were reported.
