Multiple agencies responded and spent over five hours fighting a blaze Tuesday when a fire erupted in the 7000 block of South Highway 92 in Hereford. Two homes, a barn, an Airstream trailer, a garage, a couple of out buildings and six cars were destroyed by the fire that spanned approximately 23 acres. The 34 firefighters on scene were able to keep the fire contained south of Highway 92 and west of South Paint Ranch — which Fry Fire Chief Mark Savage said was the goal. There were no fatalities, but a firefighter was treated for dehydration and a civilian was evaluated for smoke inhalation on scene. Neither were sent to a hospital.
