Glendale Firefighters Patrick Hourihan, Connor Healy, Kyle Borg and John Sindle have completed specialized training to become members of the fire department’s Technical Rescue Team. The newest technical rescue technicians received their certifications Nov. 17 at the Phoenix Fire Training Academy Special Operations Facility.
The firefighters spent five weeks in training that included 200 hours of classroom and field experience. The addition of three trained technicians brings the Glendale Fire Department Technical Rescue Team to 52 members. All TRT members receive training in rope rescue, tree rescue, structural collapse, trench rescue, confined space rescue and swift water rescue.
