The city of Hoxie has a new fire chief, but residents might notice a familiar face. Robert Needham has taken the part-time fire chief position again. Needham has served on the Hoxie Fire Department for 19 years previously. Mayor Dennis Coggins announced the new chief earlier this month and said they’re already planning for some changes. “He’s got a lot planned and he’s going to sell some of the old equipment and try to update some of the new equipment," said Coggins. Part-time volunteer Robert Lee will be taking over a full-time firefighter position for Hoxie to cover the old full-time spot. Lee has been with the department for nine years, according to Mayor Coggins.
