The Bussey-Sharman Volunteer Fire Department has been awarded 60 First Alert smoke alarms. First Alert launched its “60 Years of Thank Yous” sweepstakes to mark the 60th anniversary of the company’s founding. Bussey-Sharman VFD was one of 60 fire departments randomly selected from hundreds of entrants to win 60 smoke alarms to help with community risk reduction initiatives. “It is important to work with the community to help prevent injury and death from smoke and fire,” said Shaun Dodson, fire chief of Bussey-Sharman VFD. “Grant and donation programs allow us to reach more members of the community, and we are grateful to First Alert for helping us make our community safer from the potentially deadly threat of smoke and fire.”
