The Fayetteville Firefighter Hero Half Marathon took place in downtown for the fifth year supporting our heroes by running and raising money.
"It felt really good, it was a great moment. I didn't expect to win, I was just hoping to finish," said runner Joseph Jenkins. Jenkins was one of the over 400 runners in the half marathon race, some firefighter participants even set off in full firefighter gear.
"I did it to be part of the race and be part of the good cause the charity brings," said Jenkins.
Proceeds from the race supports Northwest Arkansas groups that meet community needs, celebrate an active lifestyle, and honor the heroes in our everyday lives. Just as clear, the message that everyone running did it for our heroes who look after us.
