Firefighter Ronnie Spivey is gearing up, but it's not for his job at the Little Rock fire station, it's for a run. This 10-year veteran plans to run the Little Rock Half Marathon in full gear.
He posted about his training on Instagram and a Louisiana firefighter decided to join him.
"So, we got to talking, and then he's like 'You know we're wearing our bottle, right?' I was like, 'No, I didn't know.' So, now I'm here with my bottle and ready to go," said Spivey. These heroes are putting themselves to the test to highlight a serious issue. We rely on firefighters to be there for us in some of the scariest moments of life, but in order to take care of the community, they need to take care of themselves. A big part of that is physical fitness.
