At an annual ceremony Saturday loved ones came together to honor Arkansas heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice. This year two names were added to the memorial. Chief Ronald "Shorty" Boyd of the Round Mountain Fire Department who died in the line of duty in 1989 and firefighter Lancy Crawford of the Plainview Fire Department who died summer of 2016 during a driving inspection. Justin Lancaster, Chief of Plainview Fire Department says, " Firefighter Crawford was uh if there was ever an ideal firefighter that's that's how you would explain firefighter Crawford. He's always there when you need him." Over 100 firefighters have died in the line of duty so far.
