On Friday afternoon, July 14 at approximately 1:30 p.m., officers with the Russellville Police Department, Russellville Fire Department Engine 3, Engine 4, Battalion 1, Rescue 1, Fire Marshall 2, Pope County EMS Units 133 and 134, as well as a trooper with the Arkansas State Police, responded to a motor vehicle collision with entrapment that occurred near the 5100 block of North Arkansas Avenue (Hwy 7 N) near Center Valley Road.
As RPD officers arrived on the scene, northbound traffic on North Arkansas Avenue (Hwy 7 N) was directed around the crash and was reduced to one lane. Northbound traffic was rerouted from North Arkansas Avenue to Center Valley Road and at times, traffic was stopped in both the northbound and southbound lanes.
