The Greenbrier City Council voted unanimously after an executive session Monday night to terminate the city’s fire chief. Cody Fulmer said he is in shock that he no longer serves as fire chief. “I always put the people’s lives and safety first,” Fulmer said in disbelief. “It was completely a surprise to me.” In his six-year tenure as fire chief, Fulmer worked to update the department’s outdated equipment and keep his team trained in an effort to serve the city’s escalating calls for service, he said.
