Birmingham Fire and Rescue investigating an apartment fire in Ensley. Firefighters responded to the fire just before 1:00 a.m. Friday morning. It happened at a one story apartment building on Avenue G. Birmingham Fire and Rescue crews battled heavy flames and smoke for about thirty minutes. According to crews on the scene, the complex has been vacant for awhile. The cause is under investigation.
