Two families have been displaced after a fire broke out at their apartment complex Thursday night. Birmingham Fire assisted Fairfield Fire in battling the blaze at the Mattie G. Jackson Garden public housing community, according to Captain Watson with Birmingham Fire. The fire impacted two apartment units in the building, displacing a total of ten people. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
