A man is jailed on an arson charge in connection with a fire that was set in the lobby of a Huntsville Housing Authority property this weekend. Christopher Joseph Reidy, a 55-year-old from Huntsville, is accused of setting fire to a bulletin board in the lobby at 216 Seminole Drive, police said. It happened at Johnson Tower apartments, just west of Memorial Parkway near Governors Drive. Firefighters were called before 1 p.m. Sunday. Police haven't said what they believe prompted Reidy to start the fire. "He told investigators he was just trying to kill a roach," police Lt. Michael Johnson said. Huntsville Fire Investigators contacted police after recognizing signs the fire had intentionally been set, Johnson said.
