Nonprofit organization comes to aid of Mobile Fire-Rescue dog injured in hit and run

On January 11 a Mobile Fire-Rescue Department Urban Search & Rescue Type II Live Find dog Nero was the victim of a vicious hit-and-run near Overlook Rd. Firefighter Ross Braswell says the driver stopped to yell a curse word and then took off. The impact of the collision left Nero with severe road rash, lacerations, internal bleeding, and a tail injury so severe, it must be amputated. He says the vehicle was a was a dark colored, late model Ford F-150 for reference. Nero is recovering and will undergo amputation surgery soon. Nonprofit organization Spike's K9 Fund has come to Braswell's aid , covering 100% of the costs for Nero's care.
