Mobile Fire-Rescue Department firefighters responded to a residential fire in the 900 block of Ghent Street in Mobile late Wednesday morning. That's just south of Ladd-Peebles Stadium. MFRD crews were dispatched to the scene at about 11:30 a.m. The single-story home was unoccupied, the fire department reports.The fire was extinguished with no reported injuries to firefighters or civilians, according to MFRD spokesman Steven Millhouse. Millhouse said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
