An investigation is underway following a massive fire Wednesday in an industrial area in north Montgomery that injured two people, including a firefighter.
According to a release from Montgomery Fire/Rescue Sgt. O.J. Whiting, Montgomery Fire/Rescue the three-alarm blaze in the 1500 block of Furnace Street left one man with non-life-threatening burns. He was treated on the scene. One firefighter also was treated for a heat-related injury.
"Units were dispatched at about 3:10 p.m.to a possible commercial structure fire. Upon arrival, units found heavy smoke and flames coming from a six-acre lot of pallets. Upon initial response, MF/R crews reported a second alarm due to the heavy fire load.
