Update: Victim in suspicious Morgan County fire identified

Authorities continue to investigate a fire that happened in the Ryan community near Joppa early Tuesday. Around 2 a.m., Tri County and Rock Creek Fire Departments responded to a fire at a mobile home on the corner of R Ryan Drive and Apple Grove Road in the Ryan community of Morgan County. The Morgan County coroner confirmed one person was killed in the fire. The victim was identified as Kimberly Faye Lamons. She died of smoke inhalation. The state fire marshal's office was called in to help investigate because the fire was deemed suspicious. Crews battled the fire into the morning hours but were unable to save the home.
