Firefighters from four volunteer departments were able to keep a Monday night fire from destroying a manufactured home near Greenhill. Firefighters from Killen, Center Star and Mid-Lauderdale worked with Greenhill firefighters on the fire that was reported around 7 p.m. Greenhill Fire Chief Barry Gray said the fire started in the kitchen and firefighters were able to keep it contained to the kitchen area and get it put out. “It started in the kitchen and that’s where we stopped it,” Gray said. He said the rest of the residence was not damaged from the fire.
