A woman was found dead in a burning DeKalb County home this morning.
The victim's death was ruled accidental as a result of smoke inhalation, said Coroner Tom Wilson. The woman hasn't yet been publicly identified, as authorities are working to identify her family.
The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office was called to the scene on County Road 386 around 9:15 a.m. A 911 caller told authorities the home in the Aroney community was on fire and a person might be inside, according to the sheriff's office.
"It's always hard to lose a family member during this time of year," said the sheriff's Chief Deputy Michael Edmonson in a news release. "Our thoughts and prayer goes out to family."
