VIDEO - The Kansas City Fire Department has a catchy new way to attract potential firefighters to the field. The KCFD recruits every two years – and it’s that time again. They’re targeting two groups of people, and they’re hoping their new video catches on fire. Miss G doesn’t usually rap about heroes. But the Kansas City Fire Department reached out to her to help with their new recruitment video which will be released Friday. Also in that video – country singer and firefighter Noe Palma. “Like when I applied 20-something years ago, you had 2,000 applicants or 3,000 applicants,” said Deputy Chief James Garrett with the Kansas City Fire Department. “Our last pool I think we might have had 500-600 applicants.”
