Virginia volunteer firefighter dies in firetruck accident

PHOTO: A single-vehicle crash involving a Bloxom firetruck Monday morning fatally injured a volunteer firefighter. David R. Chew Jr., 30, of Parksley, who worked as a medic with the Northampton County Department of Emergency Medical Services, died in the crash. The accident was reported at about 11:31 a.m. An investigation revealed that Chew, a passenger in the firetruck, was ejected, said Virginia State Police spokeswoman Michelle Anaya.
