The San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District is seeking a highly motivated individual who desires to actively support our commitment to providing a high level of service to our community as a part of a dynamic and progressive fire district.
The ideal Permit Technician candidate will be a highly skilled individual who has experience working on both large industrial and commercial projects with varying building occupancies as well as more complex multi-family, multi-story residential and/or mixed-use projects. In addition, the successful candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication abilities, as well as the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other departments, outside agencies, consultants and applicants.
Examples of job duties include: conduct basic on-site inspections; perform a wide variety of technical and administrative tasks to support customer service duties at assigned public counter; respond to customer visits, phone calls and inquiries regarding permits, plans checks, field inspections, and all other Fire and Life Safety programs and services; accept and properly process plans, and applications for issuance of permits; input information into various electronic tracking and record keeping systems.
