The new Fire Chief will join a proud organization with a rich history of providing exceptional fire service and a tradition of excellence in serving the community. The Stockton Fire Department takes great pride in the wide range of services that differentiate this department including the Dive Rescue Team, Urban Search & Rescue, Hazardous Materials, Fire Suppression and Paramedic Services.  Fire services supports a regional population of 370,000 and operates with 12 staffed Fire Stations. The Department consists of 179 sworn and 25 non-sworn employees and has a budget of $46 million for FY2011-12.
 
The successful candidate will have experience with a complex, full service, metropolitan fire department within a culturally and ethnically diverse community environment. A background that includes a minimum of two years experience, as a Fire Chief or Chief Officer and a BA/BS degree from an accredited university are required.  A MA/MS degree is highly desirable.  The annual salary is up to $180,000, DOQ.  To apply, submit your letter of interest, resume, current salary and five work related references (email preferred) to Paul Kimura by July 6, 2012.
