MRSA Training Tool

FREE to ALL - Sponsored by the Western Fire Chiefs Association

The Western Fire Chiefs Association (WFCA) is pleased to announce the release of the Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) training tool.

This educational tool is free to ALL, but focused on the pre-hospital environment.

The tool is designed for field personnel, but also has elements for making changes within departments or agencies to improve overall infection control practices.

There are easy to follow, picture-mediated instructions that can be found at this Link.

Once done, a certificate can be printed in the event the jurisdiction is willing to use as part of continuing education.

Created in a partnership and following a joint study between University of Arizona and Tucson Fire Department, Ms. Kelly Hager, MPH, developed the tool with oversight from Dr. Kelly Reynolds PhD, MSPH, Dr. Wayne Peate, MD, MPH, Mr. Jonathan Sexton, MS, and TFD Deputy Chief Ed Nied, MST, NREMT-P to share the knowledge acquired Internationally in a hope of preventing the debilitating injury or death that can result from these types of infections.
